CAMSOC Hopes to Receive Many Volunteers for the 2023 SEA Games

PHNOM PENH: The Minister of Tourism and Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Committee of CAMSOC has expressed hope that Cambodia will receive many registrations from volunteers, as an estimated 7,000 volunteers will be required for the smooth running of the games.

The National Committee of CAMSOC and the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC) held a press conference on Wednesday, 1 February 2023, to announce the recruitment of volunteers for the 2023 SEA Games and the ASEAN Para Games.

"Today is a very important event, we know that volunteers are the DNA of a big sporting event," said the Minister of Tourism, Thong Khon.

Minister Thong Khon expressed his appreciation for the President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), Hun Many, as the UYFC is supporting the SEA Games and also leading the "Beyond the Games" initiative. He added that the participation of young volunteers is important and key for determining the success of this great historical sporting event.

The UYFC President, Hun Many, also thanked the Minister of National Defense for giving UYFC the opportunity to participate in organizing this event, which he hopes will be a smooth and amazing success.

"We want to be a proud host and do our best to provide good hospitality so that foreign guests can remember and know what the 'present Cambodia' is like before they return home, and we hope that when they return, they will hold good memories and always miss us," said Hun Many.
